hold steady slams radiohead »
I’m conflicted because I’m also massiveley sick of the whole institution of Radiohead. I only really agree with “Kid-A” and maybe “OK Computer.” Their pay scheme was brilliant, but that’s like saying “Cloverfield” deserves and Oscar for it’s advertising. However, I also know that The Hold Steady have kind of been slipping ever since they decided that they needed to imitate classic rock instead of evolving it with some of Hip Hop’s rules and Hardcore’s vocal style. I’m hoping their next one turns into Drive Like Jehu, I’m expecting it to sound like one of the Neil Young records no one talks about. Whatevs, sometimes you just know who the old guard is by their willingness to fight each other.
