Here’s something a grad student told us once: if you present all the symptoms of Reye’s Syndrome, there is a statistically tiny chance you actually have Reye’s Syndrome. Why? Because very, very few people ever get Reye’s Syndrome.
I still think that, particularly when you consider the whole 8hr commercial flight back to Alaska thing, there are enough outliers in the official version to make the Desperate Housewives version seem like it might fit. Who knows, maybe we’re just talking about reckless behavior and uncommon physiology and the whole thing is just a weird combination of The Montauk Monster and the “Obama is a Muslim” meme.
